Initial finding: No foul play ruled in death of Warren baby

WARREN — Preliminary findings show no indication of foul play in the death of 2-month-old Delshawn Porterfield, found unresponsive by his mother Christmas morning.

Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk said he has not ruled on the cause of death pending further testing, such as toxicology and microbiology, which will take about two months.

The boy’s mother, Amanda Martin, 23, of Shalom Avenue Northwest reported she put the boy in his crib at 10 p.m. Monday, checked on him several times during the night, the last time at 2 a.m., and found him unresponsive at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday.
