A McGuffey Road man charged in a Sept. 23 gun shop break-in has been indicted on 23 additional counts of grand theft, one for each gun he is accused of stealing.

Brett McFarland, 19, was charged with the new counts in a superseding indictment issued Thursday by the Mahoning County grand jury.

A week earlier, the grand jury had indicted him on charges of breaking and entering and 10 counts of grand theft, one for each gun missing from AAA Customs, a federally licensed firearms dealer at 2500 Market St. on the city’s South Side.

The grand-theft counts, all first-degree felonies, allege theft of pistols, revolvers, rifles and machine guns.
