Snow emergencies declared in Youngstown, Weathersfield Twp.

A snow emergency has been declared in the city of Youngstown, effective at 1 p.m. today, and remaining in effect until further notice.

Parking is banned on all streets, except streets and alleys with a width of 25 feet or less with no driveways, announced Charles T. Shasho, deputy director of public works.

Any vehicle parked in violation may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Snow emergencies are declared in the city to ensure the safe movement of emergency vehicles when snow accumulation will be four or more inches.

Weathersfield Township in Trumbull County has announced, effective immediately, a parking ban on all township roads through midnight Sunday to give snow removal crews full access to the roads. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed, said David E. Pugh, township administrator.
