Blizzard warning issued for parts of Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Parts of Ohio are under a blizzard warning starting as a strong storm hits the state.

The National Weather Service issued the warning Tuesday for parts of eastern and northern Ohio, including Dayton, Richmond, Connersville and Kenton.

The warning is set to expire at 1 a.m. Thursday.

A strong winter storm is expected to bring heavy wind and snow to those areas, and a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain to others.

Snow accumulations could reach up to 10 inches.

Officials say driving conditions will be “extremely dangerous,” in the areas with blizzard conditions, with visibility near zero in blowing snow. Strong winds may down power lines and trees, and cause outages.
