A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Dec. 16

Domestic violence: Police charged 23-year-old Scott Williams, 8315 Weathered Wood Trail, Poland, with domestic violence and resisting arrest after a family member reported having been a victim, though was not injured.

Dec. 19

Theft: A Clingan Road man reported the theft of forks, knives, soup spoons and other utensils for a loss of about $2,177.

Dec. 20

Identity theft: A Struthers Road woman reported her identity had been stolen, though the report did not indicate a monetary loss.

BOARDMAN

Dec. 21

Theft: An employee with a Southern Park Mall store discovered her $300 cellphone had been stolen from a break room.

Counterfeit: A township man who listed a vehicle for sale online reported having received a $4,500 check, which was more than twice the car’s asking price. The check, which had no watermarks, likely was printed on a home computer, police surmised.

Theft: A woman in her 30s stole three pairs of tennis shoes from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road.

Menacing: A woman told police her former fiance followed her in his vehicle, then tried to enter her West Boulevard apartment after having shown up unannounced.

Theft: A woman in her 50s stole a shopping cart filled with merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Dec. 22

Robbery: After stealing $40 to $50 worth of clothing from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, a man in his 40s reportedly shoved a store official who had tried to detain him before fleeing in a green Ford Explorer vehicle.

Arrest: While conducting a traffic stop on Market Street, police charged 35-year-old Robert E. Roe with operating a vehicle impaired. Roe, of 428 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, also faced a child-endangering charge when, authorities said, he appeared to have been intoxicated and had a 14-year-old male in the car.

Arrests: A traffic stop on South Avenue led to the arrests of Joseph M. Susak, 37, of 97 Creed St., Struthers, on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court, and 48-year-old Eric J. Neff, 161 Courtland Ave., Campbell, who was wanted by Youngstown authorities on a probation- violation charge.

Counterfeit: A phony $20 bill was passed at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Theft: An Aylesboro Avenue woman reported a FedEx package containing a Christmas gift stolen from her porch.

Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Thomas C. Madden, 165 W. Branch Drive, Edinburg, Pa., on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.

Menacing: A Colwyn Court man told police an Athens, Ohio, man sent him three text messages implying he would be harmed.

Arrest: Authorities on South Avenue reported having seen a car drive into a small creek before they charged 60-year-old Ronald A. Chambers, 51 Willow Drive, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Domestic violence: Jordan C. Fisher, 19, of 475 Garden Valley Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his mother alleged Fisher had choked and pushed her during an argument regarding a cellphone charger.

Burglary: To a residence in the 3900 block of Stratmore Avenue after someone broke a side door’s window to enter. A flat-screen TV was taken.

Arrest: Officers received a call from a motorist on South Avenue who reported another driver had nearly struck him head-on before they charged Maureen A. Zamarelli, 39, of 400 Woodbine Ave., Warren, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Dec. 23

Theft: Chante L. Childress, 41, of 525 Broadway, Youngstown, and Keith L. Rodgers, 50, of 222 S. Truesdale Ave., Youngstown, were charged in the theft of two packages of meat from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.

Criminal mischief: A man on Doral Drive noticed scratches to his vehicle’s passenger side, apparently made with an unknown object.

Theft: Dustin M. Greenwalt, 26, of 326 Lansing Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing several electronic games from Walmart, then released on a summons.

Citation: Police approached a vehicle stuck in mud on Crestview Drive, where they charged Michael T. Muscarella, 6427 West Blvd., Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired and cited Muscarella, 51, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A wooden box containing a suspected marijuana pipe and suspected marijuana was found next to a nearby fence, a report said.

Theft: A man about age 30 stole an undetermined quantity of groceries from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market.

Theft/damage: Someone in the 6100 block of South Avenue broke a tractor-trailer’s passenger-side window before removing a $159 TV, a citizens band radio and two power inverters.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of a $400 iPhone from her Ewing Road home.

Arrest: Ryan A. Jenkins, 29, of 5989 Northlawn Ave., Boardman, was pulled over near Indianola Road before police charged him with operating a vehicle impaired.

Theft: A Lisbon woman discovered a global-positioning-system unit, a guitar, a $25 gift card and other items missing from her car while at a Boardman-Poland Road store.
