'Operation Snowflake' set for Christmas Day

YOUNGSTOWN — B’nai B’rith, Mahoning Lodge 339, a local Jewish service organization, is sponsoring “Operation Snowflake” on Christmas Day.

Members will substitute for the staff who work the information desks and gift shops at local hospitals to enable them to spend the holiday with their families.

The hospitals that will be staffed are St. Elizabeth Health Center, St. Joseph Health Center, and Sharon Regional Health Systems.

“Operation Snowflake,” which began in 1978, continues to be an opportunity to provide the spirit of volunteerism for B’nai B’rith members and goodwill for the community, said event coordinators Neil and Denise Altman.
