Recycle your Christmas trees, wrapping paper, cards at these sites

The Recycling Division of Mahoning County is engaged in the recycling of Christmas trees, gift-wrapping paper and greeting cards now through Jan. 31.

The wrapping paper and greeting cards should be collected in brown paper bags and delivered to any of the county’s 35 recycling drop-off sites.

Ribbons, bows and foil wrap will not be accepted.

Cut Christmas trees will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at any of 13 locations, including Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road; Canfield Township Fire Station, 5007 Messerly Road; Poland Township Road Department, 7508 Clingan Road; and

Community Corrections Association, 1771 Market St., Youngstown.

All decorations must be removed.

Struthers provides curbside Christmas-tree pickup.

The recycled trees will be weighted and submerged in local lakes as fish habitat.
