Allison Pavlansky | Canfield Tennis

Canfield’s Allison Pavlansky already has her future mapped out. And she has her sister, Danielle, to thank.

The older Pavlansky works on Capitol Hill as a representative for Marcy Kaptur, the U.S. Representative for Ohio’s ninth congressional district.

“It’s really cool,” Allison said. “I’ve gotten to go into the Capitol building and meet different congressmen and women. That’s a really cool experience because I want to be a part of that someday.”

She also knows that tennis, her favorite sport, will always be a part of her. Even through the winter months, she plays three times a week. In October, she participated in her third-consecutive state tournament in Columbus. It’s this time of year that has fueled her desire to reach that point, every year.

“That was my ultimate motivation knowing that there was a goal for the Fall,” she said. “This year, it’s a whole new goal. I want to make sure that I’m at my best for my team.”

Pavlansky hopes to get accepted into the Naval Academy but also has two other colleges in mind with plans to play tennis.

“I didn’t even know I wanted to play collegiality until my junior year,” she said. “That’s when I realized that I really, truly loved tennis. It has allowed me to open doors that maybe were not available other wise is pretty special.”

She’ll major in political science or criminology at the school of her choice.
