Hubbard family needs donations

HUBBARD

Donations of new and used items are being accepted at the Hubbard Public Library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for the family who lost their home in a fire early Friday.

Trisha Kuzel, a 1999 Hubbard High School graduate, and her family, including her 9-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son, lived in the home.

Supporters are trying to provide gifts for them for Christmas.

Sizes needed are girl’s size 10 clothes and size 31/2 shoe; boy’s size 2T and toddler 7 shoe; and woman size 8-10, men size 38 or 40 (32 length) and XL. Also needed are size 5 diapers.

Temporarily repaired

VIENNA

The Warren Family Mission’s Hannah’s House got its heat and hot water back earlier this week, thanks to donated labor and parts from a Youngstown company.

Tom Turnbull of Eagle Mechanical on Steel Street responded to news reports of the broken heat and water boilers, replaced several parts and got both boilers working again at no cost.

The repairs will keep the heat on temporarily, but more extensive work eventually will be needed, said Michelle Beauchene, the mission’s director of development and community relations.

Hannah’s house, on Warren-Sharon Road, provides a one-year residential treatment program for women with substance abuse and other problems. Thirteen women live there.
