Sebring athletic HOF to induct 4 tonight

Sebring will induct four athletes into its athletic hall of fame between the junior varsity and varsity home boys basketball game tonight against Western Reserve.

Inductees are the late Greg Riggar (class of 1973, basketball), Terry Applegate (1975, football, baseball and basketball), Sarah Zurbrugg (1991, volleyball and basketball) and Jake Zurbrugg (1993, football and baseball). The Zurbruggs are siblings.

Riggar, a first team all-district selection his senior year, led the Trojans to the state semfinals.

Applegate earned 10 varsity letters and was a member of the football team’s 1973 league co-championship squad.

Sarah Zurbrugg earned eight varsity letters and was a first team all-district pick in both basketball and volleyball as a senior.

Jake Zurbrugg earned seven varsity letters and earned first team all-district in both football and basketball.

A reception for the inductees, their families, and Sebring fans will be held in Brook Gym following the varsity game
