Sarah Baker v Jeffrey Penney


St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park was the setting for the 4:30 p.m. June 2 marriage ceremony of Sarah Elizabeth Baker and Jeffrey Curtis Penney, both of Warren. The Rev. Mark Brungard officiated.

A reception followed at the B&O Station Banquet Hall in Youngstown.

Richard and Sheryl Baker of Warren are the parents of the bride, and the parents of the groom are James and Linda Penney of Poland.

The bride wore a classic white gown with straps and flower accents. Her double-layered veil was hand-beaded by her grandmother. The maid of honor was Jocelyn Penney, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Ginny Ulbricht, Stephanie Rumberger, Carol Ann Smolka, Grace Holupka and Gianna Colella. Alyssa and Kailey Baker, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. The attendants wore pink gowns.

Nathan Pavalko performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Max Pivik, Chas Miller, John Jerasa, Joel Tyrell and Michael Baker, brother of the bride. Ryan Baker, another brother of the bride, was the usher.

The couple both received bachelor’s degrees in music education from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University.

The bride is lead worship musician and organist at Bazetta Christian Church, Cortland, and is a music teacher for grades six through 12 at Bloomfield-Mespo Schools.

The groom is a band director for grades five through 12 at Mathews Schools in Vienna and is director of children and youth ministries at Bazetta Christian Church.

The couple took a wedding trip to Asheville, N.C.; Jekyll Island, Ga.; Orlando, Fla.; New Orleans; Memphis and Nashville. They are residing in Warren.
