Mahoning deputy coroner calls for improved mental health services

YOUNGSTOWN

Dr. Joseph Ohr, forensic pathologist and deputy Mahoning County coroner, called for review of local mass-disaster action plans and a renewed commitment to preventive mental health services in the wake of the Connecticut mass school shooting last Friday.

“We have to think about and improve emergency management, but we also have to think about and manage and do better with our mental health in this community,” Dr. Ohr said Thursday at the county commissioners’ meeting.
