Son, wife admit killing Pa. engineer over mistress

MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia man admits he killed his father during a fight over the father’s plans to return to India with a mistress.

Parth Ingle says he wanted his father, a Boeing engineer, to stay to keep the family together.

The 26-year-old Ingle has pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter in the 2008 death.

His mother, 53-year-old Bhavnaben Ingle, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit voluntary manslaughter.

Parth Ingle says he wrestled a baseball bat and knife from his father during the struggle at his parents’ Middletown Township home.

Delaware County Judge Barry Dozor says he’s concerned it took nearly five years for Parth Ingle to come clean.

But the judge granted the minimum sentences of 33 months in prison for the son and 10 months for the mother.
