Pa. resort to open ski lodge for one that burned

FARMINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A southwestern Pennsylvania resort will open a new, larger ski lodge on Christmas Eve, replacing one destroyed in a February fire.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Nemacolin Woodlands Resort’s new Sundial Ski Lodge at Mystic Mountain will be 6,000 square feet larger than the lodge that burned on Feb. 12. The new lodge will include bowling alleys, arcade games, a larger restaurant and a retail shop. The lodge will be open year-round.

The ski lodge is but a small part of the sprawling 2,000-acre resort in Fayette County, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh. The resort includes two golf courses, two five-star hotels, condos, townhouses, dining and a private airstrip.

The resort will offer live music and food and beverage specials to christen the new lodge from Christmas Eve to Dec. 30.
