FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. This is the last sale of the year; sales resume Jan. 11.

SATURDAY

St. Nicholas Bake Shop is planned from noon to 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road, Campbell. Cookies will be $15 and $25 per plate or $5 per dozen; apricot, cheese, lekvar, nut and poppyseed kolachi, $10 each; frozen apple, cheese or cherry strudel, $9; pagachi with potato/cheese filling, $6; and wedding or mushroom soup, $6 per quart. TAKING ORDERS

Sts. Peter & Paul Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for strudel. Cost is $8 for large apple or cherry and $9 for large cherry with cheese. Today is the deadline for orders. Pickup is 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. To order call 330-792-6699 or 330-799-7911. All proceeds will benefit the children of orphanages in Ukraine.

UPCOMING

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St, Boardman, will be selling ham loaves from noon until sold out Jan. 15. The loaves will be sold in packages of six for $12 or 12 for $24. There will be no advance orders.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus 3930, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will be serving pasta dinners from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 30 at the parish center. Dinners include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 9 and free for kids 5 and under. Carryouts will be available.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will have an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Dec. 29. Donations will be accepted. The menu consists of eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and onions, coffee, orange juice and other beverages. Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will serve a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5. The menu includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12.
