John S. Gulas, president and chief executive of Farmers National Bank, along with several associates delivered presents to children in need at the Beatitude House in Youngstown on Monday.

In all, the bank purchased gifts for 50 children living at the house, which accommodates disadvantaged women and children.

Gifts were also purchased for three children living at the Beatitude House in Warren.

New GetGo to open

Giant Eagle will have a special event Thursday to mark the grand opening of its new GetGo gas station and convenience store at 2109 Elm Road NE.

The station is adjacent to the newly renovated Warren Plaza Giant Eagle grocery store. The GetGo will feature eight fuel pumps. Hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

First Energy to invest $14.7M in vehicles

First Energy announced it is investing $14.7 million in new vehicles for line crews and other front-line service employees across its Ohio Edison service territory.

Ohio Edison will receive 106 new vehicles to add to its 1,500-vehicle fleet.

In all, First Energy will acquire nearly 850 vehicles before the end of this year. Makes and models have not yet been released, but new trucks will feature advanced technology such as enhanced hydraulics, more robust lighting and better fuel efficiency.

Instagram, the popular mobile photo-sharing serviceSFlbnow owned by Facebook, said Tuesday that it will remove language from its new terms of service suggesting that users’ photos could appear in advertisements.

The language in question had appeared in updated policies announced Monday and scheduled to take effect Jan. 16. After an outcry on social media and privacy- rights blogs, the company clarified that it has no plans to put users’ photos in ads.

Instagram maintains that it was created to become a business and wants to experiment with advertisements to make money.
