American Legion Post 472 gets keys to its new building Thursday

YOUNGSTOWN — American Legion Post 472, located at 323 E. Indianola Ave., will receive the keys to its new building at a presentation at 9 a.m. Thursday.

The building was constructed by the nonprofit group, Core 6+, and local companies that donated the funds and building supplies and tradesmen throughout the tri-county area who donated their skills and time.

The new building features a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen for community events, a large meeting room and additional handicap access space for assisting area veterans.

The building project was completed in record time due to the community’s interest and involvement and will benefit area veterans and their families, said Donny Murphy, a Core 6+ spokesman. Bob Raver is Post 472 commander.
