Turnpike hearing set

Turnpike hearing set

Lordstown

Mahoning County Commissioner John McNally IV, Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka and Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald are having a public hearing from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today about the Ohio Turnpike.

The hearing is at the United Auto Workers Local 1714 hall at 2121 Salt Springs Road in Lordstown.

McNally and FitzGerald have expressed concern about the governor’s plan to raise money by leveraging turnpike tolls. That’s because nearly all that money would go toward improvements in the northern part of the state, where the turnpike is, while using the state’s gas tax for projects in the southern part.
