52nd Boar’s Head festival tickets on sale at St. John’s

Tickets are on sale for the 52nd annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival on Jan. 6 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.

Performance tickets are $6 each. Dinner tickets with preferred performance seating are available for $17.50.

The dinner will be a traditional roast beef feast complete with wassail.

The festival will be performed at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 3:15.

The festival is one of the longest-running such festivals in the country and features the Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival Choir & Brass. This year it will once again include bagpipers, drummers and a cast of about 100 St. John’s parishioners dressed in medieval costume.

Tickets may be purchased in the church office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and until noon Fridays. Or, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the church, “Attention: Boar’s Head,” St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44503-1095. Include a note indicating performance time and make check payable to St. John’s Episcopal Church. The deadline for orders by mail is Dec. 26.

The church is handicap accessible. Free parking is available in the church lot, at the public library and in the YSU parking deck immediately north of the church on Wick Avenue.
