Taylor hired as branch manager

First National Bank has hired Lydia J. Taylor as vice president and branch manager of its newly opened Canfield office at the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Tippecanoe in Canfield’s Creekside Place.

Taylor will manage branch operations and sales efforts including the development of new business and customer-service efforts.

Brilex Industries, an international fabricating, machining and assembly provider based in Youngstown, had 18 employees earn their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certifications by participating in a certification program that included 40 hours of direct instructor training, followed by a certification project. Employees were trained with the ability to apply the quality tools and techniques of al elements in the Lean Six Sigma methodology.

Six Sigma operates through both statistical and human processes to eliminate the causes of errors and develop efficiencies in productivity, which consequently reduce costs.

Growth at The Brilex Group led to hiring of William Woost as manager of operations and Katie McMenamin as sales and marketing coordinator.

Woost is a 1998 graduate of Malone College, with a BS in Business Management; in 2006, he earned his Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt from Kent State University. He previously was operations/plant manager and then manager/project manager for Howden Buffalo of New Philadelphia. Woost will oversee the Crescent Street facility.

McMenamin is a 2011 magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. She has experience in project management, public relations and graphic design.

The Board of Directors of the TriCounty Chapter of the Autism Society of Greater Akron has merged with the Autism Society of Ohio to form the Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley.

The group has hired Aundrea Cika to be the director of the new office. Cika has experience in marketing, event planning and fundraising.

Pecchia Communications, a public relations and marketing firm, has added three new clients.

American Greetings Corp., based in Cleveland, NECA-IBEW Electricians and Adamas Jewelry & Gifts in Boardman.

Pecchia Communications also has added Lisa Long, a 13-year public relations veteran with nonprofit experience, as a consultant.

Long was most recently development director for Hunger Free Vermont in Burlington, Vt., before moving back to Ohio with her family. Previously, she held public relations leadership positions at Burlington City Arts, ECHO Lake Aquarium & Science Center and Vermont Children’s Hospital. Before that, she was a television news reporter, anchor and producer.
