LORDSTOWN

Members of the Lordstown community are planning a candlelight vigil tonight in the Village Square in remembrance of the shooting victims in Newtown, Conn.

Lordstown police said individual residents of the village informally have planned tonight’s observance.

The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. in the center of the village at Tod Avenue Southwest (state route 45) and Salt Springs Road.

The shooting Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown claimed the lives of 20 students and six adults at the school, the gunman’s mother at home, and the gunman himself.
