Wean Foundation awards $110K in grants

WARREN — The Raymond John Wean Foundation has awarded grants totaling $110,000 for internships for public-sector and civic-sector leadership, professional development of family child-care professionals and recreation opportunities.

The largest grant was made to the Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Youngstown State University for its summer internship program. The $55,000 will help the center place interns with organizations working in the Mahoning Valley.

Half the internships will be at public agencies, in line with the foundation’s work in public-sector and civic-sector leadership, said Jeffrey M. Glebocki, foundation president.
