Suspects to be tried in slaying of Pa. store clerk

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — A judge has ordered three suspects to stand trial in the slaying of a convenience store clerk in central Pennsylvania.

The Cumberland County men face homicide and robbery charges in the Nov. 18 shooting death of 55-year-old Linda Ness.

Police testified at a preliminary hearing Friday that 20-year-old Christian Conway, 19-year-old Shante Rice and 19-year-old Tyler Bradshaw gave statements about their roles in the crime at the Hess Express gas station in Silver Spring Township.

The Sentinel of Carlisle reports that a fourth defendant previously waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Defense attorney Gregory Abeln unsuccessfully tried to get the robbery charges tossed because the suspects left empty-handed.
