Police: Ohio homeowners catch burglars in the act

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — Police say a northern Ohio couple caught two burglars in the act of robbing their house.

The Sandusky Register reports today that the couple returned home late Thursday night to find their back door open.

Police say once they walked inside, a 17-year-old suspect jumped out of a second-floor window onto the roof, while a man identified as 34-year-old Rolland Forney Jr. barreled down the stairs toward the front door.

The man of the house blocked the door, and police say Forney punched him several times before breaking the door down.

Police found Forney and the teen running away shortly after and arrested them on multiple charges.

Forney was carrying a camera, a cellphone, jewelry and other items from the home.
