Pastors join students for breakfast at YCS

Youngstown Christian School students invited their pastors to have breakfast with them at the school.

More than 45 pastors of different faiths and backgrounds attended the gathering to eat with their students. They were greeted and served by students who are members of the National Honor Society.

“Leave it to children to get all of us together in one room,” said Pastor Juan Rivera, New Life Church. “We need to do this more often.”

Pastors enjoyed a musical presentation performed by the students and a video created by Nu’da Hassen, a 10th-grade student at the school.

Pastors Kenneth Donaldson, Rising Star Baptist Church, and the Rev. Mr. Rivera, who are involved with the school, also shared their personal gratitude for what the school has done for their own children as well as the children of their congregations.

The program also included comments from David Moser a high school English teacher at Youngstown Christian School and parent of a kindergarten student.

“Teaching at Youngstown Christian has given me the unique opportunity to not only teach the subject matter, but incorporate God’s truth into my students’ everyday life,” he said.

Michael Pecchia, president of Youngstown Christian School, expressed his gratitude to pastors for attending the event.

“This is an event we have done in the past but got away from,” he said. “It was such a success we are going to make it an annual event.”
