Unique boutique raises funds for Poland library

Poland library hosted a unique boutique fundraiser at Holy Family parish Nov. 28, where shoes, wine cases, scarfs, hats, and jewelry were just a few of the objects for sale at this boutique-style event.
The fundraiser had originally been planned to take place at the Poland library, but due to the appearance of odd smells that seemed to be coming from around the library, the event was moved to Holy Family.
“We wanted people to have the chance to find some unique gifts for the holidays and raise some money for the library along the way,” said Deborah Liptak, development director at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
The idea for the fundraiser started in the spring on the tennis courts with Liptak and Trendy Trousseau owner Summer Wise.
“Summer knows many different boutique owners through playing tennis and we thought this would be a great idea.
The boutique ladies come from all over, here in Poland and some even came all the way from Pittsburgh,” Liptak said.
The unique boutique fundraiser was sponsored by the Friends of the Poland Library, in conjunction with its other yearly fundraisers, including the Girls Night Out event that took place this October.
