The Ohio Senate’s outgoing president says he plans to look for work in the private sector when his legislative term expires at the end of the year.

Senate President Tom Niehaus is leaving the General Assembly because of term limits.

The New Richmond Republican told reporters Thursday that Gov. John Kasich had asked him to think about working for the administration. He said the two hadn’t discussed a specific job.

Niehaus said he told Kasich that he planned to pursue work elsewhere but would do what he could to continue to support the GOP governor.
