YOUNGSTOWN
A 25-year-old man is recovering from two gunshot wounds he suffered while in the living room of a Rutledge Drive woman’s house.
The 24-year-old Rutledge Drive woman told police an ex-boyfriend, who is unsuccessfully trying to rekindle their relationship, fired three shots from her front yard into the living room of her East Side home about 6:20 p.m. Monday.
Besides herself and Justin Johnson of Youngstown, the woman’s 2-year-old daughter also was in the living room when the former boyfriend opened fire.
Johnson was shot on the left side of his torso and his right leg, according to a police report.
Johnson was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment. The hospital refused Tuesday to disclose his condition, but police said the injuries aren’t life-threatening.
The woman and her daughter, who was walking away from the couch when the shots were fired, weren’t struck or injured, police said.
The gunman fled before police arrived.
Police are looking for the woman’s former boyfriend in connection with this felonious assault.
