Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership’s Center for Family and Economic Success is offering free basic computer and Internet training for Mahoning County adults 18 and older who have no computer knowledge or skills.

There will be three classes at MYCAP, 1325 Fifth Ave.: Tuesday through Thursday, and two will be offered Dec. 17 to 19. Preregistration is required. Call Kim Omoregie, self-sufficiency planner at MYCAP, at 330-747-7921, ext. 1190.

The three-session classes are: “Introduction to Computers,” “Microsoft for Beginners” and “Introduction to the Internet.”

Atty. Joseph Bishara, founder and executive director of Youngstown-based Charity Land Exchange, Inc., has announced that all donations of real estate to the nonprofit corporation before Jan. 1 are fully tax-deductible in the 2012 tax year.

The organization likely will sell the property at a future date, and the donor’s chosen charity will receive the proceeds.

Guy’s BBQ, 2545 Belmont Ave., has joined 21 WFMJ-TV’s Project: Feed Our Valley, by donating $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley for every burger sold through Dec. 31.

Also, if Guy’s customers prefer ribs to burgers, they can bring in a nonperishable food item and receive $1 off a rack of ribs.

In addition to raising money and collecting food for Second Harvest, the restaurant will have local celebrities cooking burgers and ribs throughout the month, including Mike Iberis, executive director of Second Harvest, from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday. For every $1 given, Second Harvest can distribute $15 worth of food. Second Harvest distributes food to 153 hunger-relief organizations in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Inaugural tickets

WASHINGTON

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Avon, issued a reminder that his office has a limited number of ticketed spaces available for Ohioans who wish to attend the 57th presidential inauguration ceremony Jan. 21.

Ohioans interested in attending the inauguration may enter a lottery system that Brown’s office will use to distribute the tickets allotted.

Though the event is open to everyone, and the National Mall will have nonticketed areas available to the public for viewing the ceremony, Brown’s office also has a limited number of ticketed spaces available.

Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 16. Ohioans may enter their names once per household for up to two tickets. Winners will be notified Dec. 18. For information or to enter the lottery, visit Brown’s website at www.brown.senate.gov/services/inauguration. Inquiries can also be directed to Brown’s office at 202-224-2315.

Spaghetti dinner

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the InterVarsity Collegiate Black and Christian Group from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Center for Community Empowerment, Rockford Village, 1420 Dogwood Lane. Donation is $5. The fundraiser is sponsored by New Birth Kimmelbrook Church of Youngstown.
