Fracking issues to be topic of talk

Ed Hashbarger will speak about forced pooling and other fracking-related issues Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown at 1105 Elm St. in Youngstown.

The event is sponsored by Frackfree Mahoning County.

Hashbarger is an extra, playing a police officer in the upcoming Matt Damon and John Krasinski movie “Promised Land.”

Some Dominion rates to increase

Customers of Dominion East Ohio will see an increase to their gas rate if they are a standard service or standard choice subscriber.

Effective Dec. 11, those rates will be $4.296 per thousand cubic feet (mcf). The new rates are 22.5 cents, or 5.5 percent, higher than the November rate of $4.071 per mcf. The rate remains 6.8 cents, or 1.5 percent, lower than the $4.364 per mcf consumer paid last December.

PNC to suspend evictions for holidays

PITTSBURGH

PNC Bank has announced it will suspend evictions nationwide between Dec. 17 and Jan. 2 on occupied foreclosed homes for which PNC is the investor.

“We hope this suspension provides families who are experiencing financial hardship some stability over the holiday season,” said Saiyid Naqvi, chief executive officer of PNC Mortgage.

PNC is Youngstown’s third-largest bank by deposits.
