Inspiring Minds to receive support from AT&T program

Inspiring Minds has been selected by AT&T to receive a $7,500 contribution to support the AT&T Dream Big Program, which will emphasize science and technology through the use of after-school tutoring.

The program will target ninth- and 10th-grade minority students from Warren City Schools.

Inspiring Minds works to engage, inspire and empower youths to reach their full potential through education and exposure to life-changing experiences.

“AT&T’s generous contribution will support Inspiring Minds AT&T Dream Big Program so that every student in our area can work to graduate high school, complete college or a vocational school and become strong, successful members of our society,” said Deryck Toles, Inspiring Minds executive director.

State Rep. Sean O’Brien said he’s encouraged by the work of the program.

“Work-force preparation efforts like these are so important to keep our communities vibrant,” he said. “I hope other organizations are able to do as AT&T has and offer additional help to the Inspiring Minds program.”

Steve Kristan, director of external affairs for AT&T in Youngstown and Canton, said the company is thrilled to partner with Inspiring Minds to focus on success in the classroom.

“We believe that equipping our students to graduate ready for the work force is an important issue for students, our company and our country,” he said.
