HUBBARD

Peyton Aldridge led the Vikings (1-0) with 20 points. John Richards’ 11 points included three 3-pointers.

For the Eagles (0-1), Jordan Thomson scored 17 points and Darnell Tate 10.

Beaver Local 78, Champion 56

LISBON

Troy Hudson scored 22 points with seven rebounds and five assists for the Beavers.

Jared Lyder scored 17 with seven assists and five assists. Chase Hillard had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Beavers (1-0), who led 17-4 after one quarter.

For Champion (0-1), Chris Miller scored 17 points, Tyler Bishop had 13 points and Ross Linger 10.

Western Reserve 50, Crestview 42

BERLIN CENTER

Western Reserve used an 18-6 third quarter to break open a 24-20 halftime score, and then held on for the season-opening win.

The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Nolan Snyder with 15 points, Payton Snyder with 13 and Dalton Korda with 12. Korda also had seven rebounds.

Crestview was led by Robert Logan with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Yo. Christian 49, East Palestine 44

EAST PALESTINE

Youngstown Christian outscored East Palestine 26-18 in the second half and won a close game in which neither team led by more than five points.

Ahead by two with less than 10 seconds left, the Eagles forced a turnover and turned it into a three-point play to clinch the contest.

Daylen Williams led YCS with 14 points.

Austen Reiser had 15 and 14 rebounds for East Palestine. Steve Parker added 15 points and Nate Keylor recorded six assists for the Bulldogs.

South Range 47, Columbiana 41

COLUMBIANA

Tyler Beverly scored 14 points for the Raiders.

Jake Arsuffi had 12 and Andrew Cullar 10 for South Range, which grabbed a 16-6 lead after one quarter to take control.

Kyle Bryan scored 18 points for Columbiana, which made just 4 of 13 from the free throw line compared to 13 of 17 for the Raiders.

Mineral Ridge 71, Lordstown 47

LORDSTOWN

Corey Phillips had 20 points, Zac Hagy had 14 and Brandon Perkins had 11 points for Mineral Ridge.

Junior Nick Johnson had 17 points and junior Jake Jones scored 16 for Lordstown, which fell behind, 15-1, after the first quarter.

West Branch 85, United 35

BELOIT

Beau Taylor had 14 points while Troy James and Kip DeShields had 13 points apiece for West Branch.

The Warriors out-rebounded the Golden Eagles, 36-24, with DeShields’ 10 leading the way.

Paul Faulkner’s 15 points and Brandon Miller’s 10 points paced United.

Southern 63, Lisbon 36

SALINEVILLE

Luke Griffith made seven 3-pointers and finished with 29 points to lift Southern, which ran out to a 34-16 halftime lead.

Jared Shilot and Kyler Woodward each added 10 points for the Indians.

Josh Liberati scored 16 points with two assists and two steals and Josh Craig added five points and eight rebounds.

Maplewood 68, Southington 60

CORTLAND

Kevin Jones scored 20 points and Luke Evan 16 for the Rockets (1-0).

For the Wildcats (0-1), B. Baugher and P. Paul each scored 13 points while J. Zolna netted 12.

Heart. Christian 54 Badger 35

COLUMBIANA

Sophomore guard Glenn Hoffman scored 23 points for Heartland Christian.

Senior Brandon Crawford and junior Jared Robinson had eight rebounds apiece.

Senior Kyle Burgess had six assists and four steals for the winners, who jumped out to a 14-5 lead after eight minutes.

Brandon Bates’ 15 points led Badger.

Bristol 75, Warren JFK 55

BRISTOLVILLE

Chad Oliver scored 28 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out four assists to lead Bristol’s rout.

Oliver made four of the Panthers’ nine 3-point field goals.

Brandon Lee added 13 points and Alex Jones and Zak Dibell had 10 apiece for the winners.

Bristol bolted to a 20-7 lead after one quarter and won every quarter.

Dominic Naples scored 14 for JFK.

Preston Caparanis had 11 and Luke Keck added 10.

Mathews 40, Jackson-Milton 36

VIENNA

Aaron Suchanek scored 14 points and Andy Morgan had 10 to lead the Mustangs (1-0).

For the Bluejays (0-1), Brandon Mitchell led with 11 points.

NORTH BLOOMFIELD

Bloomfield outscored SS John & Paul 23-7 in the second quarter and cruised to victory. Isaiah Noce and Ian Clarion scored 13 points apiece for the Cardinals and Coty Turner added 12.

East Liverpool 71, Wellsville 53

WELLSVILLE

Mary Davis led the Potters (1-2) with 17 points in Thursday’s game. Nikayla Edgell scored 13 points while Candace Holmes and Kiara Cowart each scored 10.
