2 dead after police chase in Cleveland

CLEVELAND

A police chase in Cleveland that lasted more than five miles and began with a shot fired near police headquarters led to a gunfight that killed a man and a woman.

The chase began about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland and went through the village of Bratenahl and East Cleveland before ending with the two suspects being fatally shot by officers near a school.

The Plain Dealer reported Friday that one witness said as many as 50 police cars were involved in the chase.
