With plenty of lettermen returning from last year’s 11-2 team, the Poland boys golf squad is focused on continuing that success in 2012.

The Bulldogs lost Shawn McMann and Vince DiChellis to graduation, but return Jason McQuown, Mark Passarello, Dave Shoffstall, Alex Vari and Nick Franceshelli. Joining them on the team will be Jake Miller, Matt Peck, Mike Ciccone, and Jake Jeswald, who played last season on the junior varsity team.

“We have to keep the momentum going.” said head coach Dave Digiacommo. “We are off to a good start. The important thing is to be at our best when sectional and league tournaments come around.”

With matches coming against the likes of Canfield, Howland and Fitch, the team needs to be ready.

“We’re working hard and we are going to get better with every match.” Digiacommo said.

The junior varsity team includes Dante Petrus, Kyle Dixon, Corey Growner, Brendan Glosser, Dylan Karkon, Justin Waterbeck, Tate Duarte, Brian Velasquez, Isaac Miller and Pat Modeleski.

Both teams play their home matches at Knoll Run.
