Buccaneers release Canfield grad Baker

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released safety Sean Baker, a Canfield High graduate, according to various media reports.

Baker made the team as an undrafted free agent in the spring and made a strong push for a roster spot in the final preseason game, intercepting two passes and recovering a fumble.

Earlier Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles released center Steve Vallos, a Boardman High graduate who signed with the team in the offseason.

Vallos, who was drafted by the Seahawks and also played for the Browns, was one of 22 cuts made Friday as NFL teams were required to get down to the 53-player limit.

Also, Cardinal Mooney High graduate Ishmaa'ily Kitchen was released by the Baltimore Ravens but could be headed to the team's practice squad. Kitchen signed with the team in April as an undrafted free agent out of Kent State.
