Fitch volleyball dominates Harding

The Austintown volleyball team defeated Warren G. Harding 25-7, 25-22 and 25-15 on Aug. 25 at Harding. The leading server was Cali Mikovich with five aces. Maura Bianco was the lead attacker with six kills and Sydney Greenwood was the lead setter with 10 assists. The lead defender for Fitch was Alex Corradi with five digs. Lead blockers were Maura Bianco, Sarah Obradovich and Sarah Melfe with one block.

Fitch golfers beat Canfield

The Fitch boys golf team defeated Canfield 163-169 on Aug. 23 at the Tippecanoe Golf Course. Leading the team for Fitch were Matt Matasy (35), Dom Ignazio (40), Joey Shushok (42) and Vince Goleno (46).

Fitch girls soccer tops West Branch

The Austintown girls soccer team won its match against West Branch 3-1 on Aug. 22. Goals for Fitch were scored by Kaelyn Puhalla, Jayme Ritchie and Lauren Bower, with assists by Madison Hefner and Jayme Ritchie. Goalkeeper, Jessica Scott blocked all four West Branch shots. The junior varsity teams tied 1-1.

Fitch boys golf defeated

The Fitch boys golf team was defeated by Hubbard 176-177 on Aug. 22 at the Deer Creek golf course. Leading the Fitch team was Adam Catauro with a score of 43, Matt Matasy (4)3, Joey Shushok (45) and Vince Goleno (46).

1962 Fitch football reunion is Friday and Saturday

A reunion celebrating the 1962 Austintown Fitch Steel Valley Conference Championship Football Team will occur on Friday and Saturday.
