ALF 140-pounders improve to 2-0

The Austintown Little Falcons 140-pounders improved to 2-0 this season, using a strong offensive performance to defeat Boardman 28-8 on Sunday.

The Falcons offense clicked once again and the defense shut down the Spartans’ attack until the closing seconds. Andrew Bretsik, Dra Rushton, Emanuel Dawkins led the Falcon scoring attack, while Daniel Ifft, Logan Italiano, Nathaniel Fowler and Bryce Revis all had solid contributions to win.

The Little Falcons will face the Poland Little Bulldogs tomorrow, beginning at noon at Fitch Falcons Stadium.

Austintown 100-pound team falls to Boardman

The 100-pound Little Falcons (0-2) played Boardman tough for a half, but the Little Spartans turned an 8-6 lead into a 20-6 victory last Sunday.

Boardman led 8-6 at halftime, but scored with 1:30 left in the third quarter to increases its advantage to 14-6. The Falcons played well until the middle of the third quarter when they were worn down by a tough Boardman defense and superior numbers.

Terrance Pankey scored the lone Austintown touchdown. Cameron Smith, Adam Emerick, Anthony Blott, Adam Bedock and Joseph Serensky all played well in defeat.

120-pound Little Falcons lose tight contest

The ALF 120-pound football team fell to 1-1 on the season after suffering a tough 14-8 loss to rival Boardman last Sunday.

“The Falcons should have won. We will work to get over this loss — nothing good comes easy. We didn’t play as hard as we usually do — we will change that this week,” said coach Antonio Page.

Ryan Gordon scored a rushing touchdon for the Little Falcons. Christopher Scott, Todd Simons, Justin Stainfield, Daniel Newman and Logan Pugh were recognized for solid play.
