2 to be picked to hunt raccoons at Mosquito campground

CORTLAND

Hunters have the opportunity to be selected to hunt raccoons in the campground area of Mosquito Lake State Park.

Raccoons have been a nuisance for campers at the lake, so the park will allow two people to hunt during open raccoon season. A public lottery will take place at the Mosquito Lake State Park office, 1439 state Route 305, Cortland 44410, on Oct. 1.

Hunters should send name, address and phone number before Sept. 30 to the park address to be entered in the lottery.

Hunters must not have any previous wildlife violations. Selected hunters will be notified and given details of hunting hours and special regulations.
