Taylor Bell had nine kills and five service points, Hayley Spalla had 28 assists and two aces and Hailey Noufer had 10 service points, four aces and six digs for Girard. For Mineral Ridge, Peyton Allen had seven kills, eight digs and three blocks and McKenzie Garland had four service points and eight assists. JVs: Girard 2-0.

NORTH JACKSON

Erica Hughes had 12 points, seven aces and 20 kills, Paije Kiraly had 13 kills, four blocks and 28 assists and Rachael Obradovich had 12 points for JM (1-0). Shayla Ray had seven points, six kills and six blocks, Lindsey Roncone had seven points and Cassandra Sampson had eight kills.

NEWTON FALLS

Warren JFK outlasted Newton Falls in the opener for both teams. The Tigers were led by Brooke Barreca with 16 kills, two blocks, 10 digs and eight points. Hannah Zelle added 10 kills, 13 digs and four points and Haley Speltzer had 12 serving points.

Western Reserve 25-25-25,

Youngstown Christian 19-11-6

YOUNGSTOWN

Rachel Maslach tallied 14 kills and had a pair of aces for Western Reserve (1-0). Alexis Miller added nine points and two aces, while Jenny Stubbs had 12 points and six digs. Shanell Harris led Youngstown Christian (2-1) with six points, five digs and three kills. Julia Gavin had six points and four assists.

LaBrae 25-25-25, Lordstown 8-12-10

LEAVITTSBURG

Sophomore Sydney Wells, playing in her first varsity match, recorded 17 service points, including six aces, and 14 assists for the Vikings. Juniors Somer McCoy (two blocks, seven kills, six aces) and Ashley Gregory (seven aces, six digs, six kills) provided support. Lordstown got nine digs from Melody Taylor.

LIBERTY

Liberty held off Struthers in a five-set marathon in the opener for both teams. McKenzie Stanley had 15 kills and Jenna Sewell added 10 kills and 13 digs for Liberty. Jessica Charles and Leah Leshnack added 13 digs apiece. For Struthers, Holly Kane had 12 kills and nine blocks and Ashley Heffron recorded 10 kills and two aces. JVs: Liberty 2-0

YOUNGSTOWN

McKenzie Reese had 13 kills, Gina Patella 38 assists and Brie Ozenghar 16 digs for Mooney (1-0). East Palestine (1-2) was led by Carley Sansenbaugher with 11 blocks, nine kills and 11 points, including four aces. Megan Brown had 11 kills, six blocks and 10 points, and Chelsie Wright recorded 11 points and 17 assists.

Ursuline 3, Lowellville 2

LOWELLVILLE

Ursuline (1-0) was paced by Miranda Fonce with 12 kills and five blocks. Christina Eusanio added seven kills, seven blocks and five points, and Katie Conlan recorded 18 assists, five digs and five points. Lowellville (0-3) was paced by Natalie Notareschi with 14 points, six aces, two kills and 19 digs, and by Maddie DeCesare with 10 points and 36 digs. Alissa Murphy added eight kills and four blocks. JVs: Ursuline 2-1.

Andrea Zubick scored all three goals and keeper Jillian Tabaka made five saves for the Tigers (1-1). Hailey Sullivan and Nicole Siciliano added assists. Tristan Huff scored the lone goal for Crestview (2-2).

McKenzie Cowell, Delainey Cowell and Gabby Infante all had goals for Niles (2-1). Casey Sudzina and Kassidy Thomas were credited with assists. Julia Dundon scored for Salem (1-2). JVs: Niles 7-2

COLUMBIANA

Greg Bable had three goals and one assist and Caleb McGath also recorded a hat trick for the Rebels (2-1-1, 1-0 ITCL). Andre Batchelor added two goals and an assist, Tony Marr had one goal and one assist, and Noah Roberts dished out two assists. Single goals came from Matt Seabolt and Josh Batchelor and Josh Gabrick had one assist. Derek Bable made five saves in goal. Jordan Molnar tallied East Palestine’s lone goal.
