Democrats blast Romney in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — Ex-Gov. Ted Strickland and a group of Mahoning Valley Democrats said today that electing Republican Mitt Romney as president would devastate the middle class.

Speaking outside the Golden Dawn Diner on the city’s North Side, Strickland said a Romney presidential administration would have “disastrous consequences” for the middle class.

The campaign of President Barack Obama, a Democrat, kicked off a three-day bus tour through Ohio today in Youngstown. The campaign is calling it the “Romney Economics: Wrong for the Middle Class” tour.

During a press conference, the official Romney campaign bus parked nearby with the driver honking his horn a few times. The Romney bus made a stop in Niles today and will be in Boardman at 6 p.m. tonight.
