Mean- while, Alcide (Joe Manganiello) prepares for his second battle with J.D. (Louis Herthum), and Sam and Luna (Sam Trammell, Janina Gavankar) test their limits in trying to escape the corrupt bloodsuckers of The Authority.
“THE NEWSROOM” (10 p.m., HBO): TV critics everywhere are undoubtedly mourning the fact that Aaron Sorkin’s “The Newsroom” airs its Season 1 finale tonight. Now they’ll have to find another target for their vitriol.

Park Warriors program for kids
YOUNGSTOWN
Mill Creek MetroParks Warriors, a special program for children ages 7-12, will be Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Slippery Rock Pavilion on Robinson Hill Drive.
The program will be led by Angela McGrady, a former Cuyahoga Valley National Park ranger, and current recreation program coordinator.
It emphasizes building healthy bodies through educational outdoor games, and healthy competition with friends.
The fee is $8 for Mahoning County residents, and $10 for non-residents.
Participants should bring water.

Hoyt again offers fall arts classes

The Hoyt Center for the Arts has released its fall class schedule.
Deborah McLaren will teach a series of all-day drawing, painting and papier-mache sculpture workshops titled “Art Camp for Grown Ups.” Also new to the roster is “Beginning Knitting, Crochet, and Tunisian Crochet” with Rosemary Chmura. There will also be a six-session “Art of Cinema: Great Film Series” devoted to classic vampire movies with instructor David A. Gesue.
