Former East High Principal Lock Beachum calls in sick after attending a court hearing on his lawsuit protesting his transfer to Princeton Junior High, saying he had a doctor’s appointment to evaluate a medical condition that has kept him from reporting to his new assignment.

1972: Dr. Henry S. Ellison, chairman of the Youngstown Area Development Corp., says the YADC has secured over $1.4 million for minority and small businesses in Youngstown in three years of existence.
