Man admits shooting, killing Sandusky police officer
SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to killing a Sandusky police officer.
Kevin Randleman pleaded guilty to aggravated murder today in a plea deal that potentially spares his life. He could have faced the death penalty if he’d been convicted at a trial slated to start this fall.
After the plea, a judge sentenced Randleman to life in prison without the chance for parole.
Authorities say he shot Sandusky officer Andrew Dunn, who stopped him while he was riding a bicycle in March 2011.
The Sandusky Register reports the officer’s family and friends were in the courtroom to hear the plea this morning.
