LOUIE TODAY: Free speech, electronics recycling drive, abused dog update, Vindy editors

On today's Brainfood from the Heartland,  Louie, Vindy'com's news radio partner, will connect with Vindy Editor Todd Franko for a live update on the Greatest Golfer 2012 from Mill Creek Golf Golf Course.

Vindy Managing Editor Mark Sweetwood will join Louie in the studio to review the past week's news, offer a glimpse into the Sunday Vindicator and share his unique perspectives on Valley issues.

For nearly a week, Brandon Raub, a former Marine, found himself incarcerated against his will in a psychiatric facility for posting political opinions and song lyrics on Facebook. Atty. John Whitehead, Raub's lawyer, returns to the show to talk about the issue of this case —  whether the government can incarcerate American citizens for merely exercising their First Amendment rights, which has drawn international news coverage.

Then Jennifer Jones of Mahoning County Litter Control and Recycling, will stop by to chat with Louie about the restoration of the Welcome To Youngstown sign and the coming electronics recycling drive to be held at the Covelli Centre in two weeks.

Eric Ryan and Kelsey Rupert of the Covelli Centre will be in to answer questions about the upcoming Bob Dylan concert next week. Tune in to hear what seats are left, whether you can reserve a parking space, and the best way to buy tickets this close to the concert.

Finally, Kate from Angels for Animals will give an update on the healing efforts for the dog rescued from near-death on the South Side. Kate will detail what's being done to nurse him back to health physically and emotionally, and what we all can do to help!
