The Austintown library hosted an evening of fun during an event titled “Party On”, which was its final event for the summer reading program Aug. 9.
The meeting room of the library was filled with sounds of laughter and music as participants celebrated their final summer reading program together. Some families who frequent the library said they wouldn’t have missed the event.
“We come to almost every event at the library,” said Sandra Cline.
Librarians Kathe Orr and Hayley McEwing made sure to they kept children dancing and moving while they learned through songs about colors and numbers. Kids gave their best renditions of their favorite songs during karaoke and listened intently as Orr read several books. Some parents were just excited that their children were able to enjoy themselves with others.
“I love the library and we go all the time. It brings kids in contact with material offered here and gets them interacting with other children here,” said Dawn Cummings.
