Book bag giveaway is Saturday in Girard

GIRARD — Cindy Michael and family, in conjunction with the Lena, Mason, and Christian Memorial Fund, are hosting a fun day and book bag giveaway for children at Tod Park from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event takes place rain or shine.

There will be food, face painting, crafts, a visit from Jocko the Clown and a special guest.

Children will receive a free book bag filled with school supplies.

The event is in memory of Lena Cross and her two children, Mason and Christian, who were murdered Sept. 13, 2005. The case remains unsolved.
