Batman to grant boy’s wish today in Boardman

Jayden Barber’s dream will come true this evening when he meets his hero, Batman.

The 4-year-old was diagnosed in November with MDS leukemia and has one big wish left on his list that included going to the beach and getting a dog. That will be granted today.

Friends, family and community members are invited to help Jayden light the Bat Signal at 8:30 p.m. at Boardman Center Middle School on Glenwood Avenue. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Jayden’s mother, Charlene Barber, said she can’t wait to see the look on her 4-year-old’s face when Batman walks through the stadium gates.

“I’m so excited to see the joy in his face tomorrow when Batman finally answers his call,” she said. “So much effort has been put forth from friends and strangers, alike, to make one little man’s dream come true.”
