UPDATE: GM announcement will be at union hall Thursday

LORDSTOWN — The United Auto Workers Local 1112 has scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Thursday at the union hall.

A source from the union stated Tuesday that “good news” would be announced Thursday.

The union hall is located at 11471 Reuther Drive SW, Warren.

Glenn Johnson, president of UAW 1112, said he and Dave Green, president of UAW 1714, would speak.

Johnson declined to provide any information about what would be discussed.

There will be no event at the assembly plant in Lordstown. It had been confirmed by multiple political representatives Tuesday that they had been invited to an event Thursday at the Lordstown plant. Tom Mock, plant spokesman, denied any event had been scheduled at the facility.
