Coroner, police: Pa. woman killed in her bed by pickup truck

MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania woman has been killed by a pickup truck that smashed into her home while she was lying in her own bed.

Police in West Mead Township and the Crawford County coroner didn’t immediately return calls today on their investigation, and they’ve yet to identify the driver or say whether that person may face charges.

But the Meadville Tribune reports Carol Lee Ramey, 51, was killed about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Coroner Scott Schell tells the newspaper, “The truck hit the house and went into the house and landed on her.”

Ramey was home alone at the time, in a first-floor bedroom.

An autopsy was being conducted later today.
