Swim program set at community center
SALEM
Salem Community Center is announcing a fall swim program, Learning to Accelerate your Potential for Swimming. Its purpose is to bridge the gap between swim lessons and competitive swimming strokes with an emphasis on promoting wellness and fitness.
Participants will build aerobic capacity and muscular endurance, improve strokes and fitness levels, build competitive skills, individual goals based on skill level, and will experience friendly competition through optional time trials.
Classes will run Sunday through Dec. 20 with two sessions weekly.
There will be three age groups: Tiger Sharks, ages 7 to 10, 4 to 5 p.m. Sundays and 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays; Great Whites, ages 10 to 15, 5 to 6 p.m. Sundays and 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays; and adults, 6 to 7 p.m. Sundays and 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays.
For information call the center at 330-332-5885.
